What’s the difference between consular attestation and apostille for India?

They go in opposite directions. A document signed in the US for use in India (a Power of Attorney, affidavit, or certificate) needs consular attestation via VFS Global. A document issued in India for use in the US (like an Indian birth or marriage certificate) needs an apostille instead — India and the US are both Hague Convention members. We handle both and tell you which path you actually need.
